The Marketing and Communications Office at the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú
received a total of five awards at two separate ceremonies -- two from the Council
for Advancement and Support of Education District IV Conference, held April 12-15,
and three from the ADDY District 10 Awards ceremony held April 16-17.
Carl Hulsey and Laura Wattles, both of Fort Smith, each received a bronze award from CASE. Hulsey’s award came from the mobile application category for his work on the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Mobile App, while Wattles won in the viewbook design category for her design of the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Viewbook.
Wattles is a graphic designer in the Marketing and Communications Office. Hulsey, an interim co-department head of the department, also won a District 10 bronze ADDY award in the professional category for his ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú zombie shirt, which previously earned a gold ADDY at the local ADDY awards.
Student Brooke Cagle of Greenwood, a graphic design intern, won two gold District 10 ADDYs in the student category for her packaging design of HIPSTAFY, a parodic hipster-themed board game, and for her design of marketing materials for Driftwood Tavern, a fictional restaurant. Cagle created both the board game and the restaurant as part of assigned projects in her classes at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú.
Cagle’s projects will move on to compete in the National ADDY Awards held May 28-31 in Boca Raton, Fla.
